Hey everybody! Are you feelin' alright? Unfortuntately, I'm not feeling so well-my nose is all stuffed up, so I feel like a snot volcano. But on the plus side, we're snowed in, so no school today! And it's that time again-time for Day 5 of disneytasthic.tumblr.com/'s Obscure Disney Character Week! Today's character really, really, REALLY means a lot to me, and she holds a very special place in my heart along with her film-ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, The Spring Sprite, from "Fantasia 2000"(2000).

In the final segment of this sequel to Walt's original "Fantasia"(1940), a mighty elk trudges through the cold, bleak winter snow and finds an icy cave, where he breathes live into our heroine. It's time for her to once again melt away the snow and bring the green grasses and flowers that come with spring-but she discovers that her magic isn't working on a certain part of the earth. Curious, she investigates, and finds a mysterious bird-like rock in the center of a volcano. But once she reaches out to touch it, she awakens the monstrous Firebird, a creature of molten lava and rock, who destroys everything in its path, including the Sprite herself.
Time passes, and the forest has been reduced to nothing but ash and rubble. The Sprite is very cold, gray, and weak, and feels that this destruction is all her fault. But the elk trusts in her, and he takes her for a ride on his back, while the poor fairy weeps. But lo and behold, Spring's tears make some tiny little sprouts and seedlings start to grow, and her confidence is regained. She rises up, and creates a rainstorm, which leads to-BAM! Mighty oaks and trees bursting out of the ground, growing to new heights like never before! BOOM! Beautiful flowers in bloom! KAZAAM! The return of the butterflies and bees!
And finally, the Sprite is stronger than death itself-she even brings new life to the volcano, and all the world is at peace.

I couldn't even BEGIN to describe the beauty and majesty that IS the Spring Sprite. JUST LOOK AT HER!! She's a friggin' GODDESS!! In my opinion, she's one of the most beautiful characters to ever be drawn on paper. She shows that strength isn't determined by how easily you fall, but how many times you stand back up. Just-God bless Disney, for this character, for bringing the story of the Firebird to life, continuing Walt's legacy, and for this entire film. GO SEE IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, IT'S ON NETFLIX, JUST GO WATCH THIS AmAZINg FILM ANd BAsK IN IT'S GLORY

....Blush Sorry you had to see that. I have a lot of feelings for this film, I know.
Well, adios, amigos! Catch you on the flip side!

Day 1:  Obscure Disney Character Week: The Blue FairyWelcome to Day 1 of Tumblr user disneytasthic's Obscure Disney Character Week! Today, I'll be spotlighting one of the many Disney ladies who doesn't get as much attention as she should-and NO, it's not Eilonwy! I'm of course talking about The Blue Fairy from Walt Disney's 2nd feature length animated film from 1940, "Pinocchio".

The Blue Fairy's story begins with a wish-good old Gepetto's wish for his wooden marionette Pinocchio to become a real boy. And since Gepetto has brought so much joy and happiness to others with his creations(and for probably being such a nice guy, too!), she arrives in the middle of the night to grant his wish by bringing Pinocchio to life. She tells Pinocchio that he can only become a real boy, however, if he proves himself "brave, truthful, and unselfish". And eventually, throughout the course of the film, Pinocchio does all these things-he was brave in the face of Monstro the whale, promised to the Blue Fairy to never lie again after the inciden

Day 2:  Obscure Disney Character Week: The Arucuan BirdHey Howdy Hey! Welcome to Day 2 of Tumblr user disneytasthic's Obscure Disney Character Week! Today, I would like to have you meet one of the most eccentric bird you will ever meet. His name is the Arucuan. You'll find him most everywhere!
Now, he's called the Arucuan because of a peculiar song he sings-which sounds something like this.(skip to 0.27!)
Yup, this little guy from 1945's "The Three Caballeros" is always popping up everywhere and causing mischief. He's what Jose calls "a very stupid fellow", but I love him just the same! He always cracks me up with his hilarious antics and catchy song! The Arucuan later made an appearance along with Donald and Jose in the colorful and wild "Blame It On The Samba" segment of 1948's "Melody Time", and a super funny Donald Duck cartoon called "Clown Of The Jungle"(from 1947), both of which you should check out! He even made some appearances on House Of Mouse!
In conclusion, whenever I need a laugh, the Arucuan bird is sure to do the trick. He'

Day 3:  Obscure Disney Character Week: Princess Tiger LilyYo yo yo! Wazzup, my homies? Welcome to Day 3 of Tumblr user disneytasthic's Obscure Disney Character Week! Today, I'm putting the spotlight on another Disney lady who needs a little more love: Princess Tiger Lily from 1953's "Peter Pan"!
It all starts with Captain Hook obsessing over Peter Pan(as usual) and trying to find out where he's hiding, when he realizes that the Indian tribe knows the island of Never Land better than he knows his own ship. So he and his first mate Mr. Smee kidnap the Indian princess and take her to Skull Rock to try to find out where Pan's hideout is. But brave and loyal Tiger Lily won't say a word, even though Hook warns her that the high tide will be coming in soon and she will drown. Of course, Peter comes in to save the day, defeat Hook, and rescue Tiger Lily just as the tide is coming in. He returns her to her father the Indian Chief, which makes him so happy that he makes Peter a Chief, too, dubbing him "Little Flying Eagle". What follows is a wild celeb

Day 4:  Obscure Disney Character Week:Wilbur the albatrossHello, my lovelies! I am very, very, VERY excited about today's installment of http://disneytasthic.tumblr.com/'s Obscure Disney Character Week! Today's character is someone who is very near and dear to my heart and who never fails to make me laugh. I'm of course talking about Wilbur the albatross from 1990's "The Rescuers Down Under"!
In this sequel to 1977's "The Rescuers", our heroes Bernard and Miss Bianca must fly out to Australia to rescue a boy named Cody and his new friend Marahute the great golden eagle from the clutches of the poacher Percival C. McCleach. They discover that Albatross Airlines is under new management by Orville's younger brother Wilbur, a motor-mouthed, white feathered, party animal of a bird who loves dancing to old time rock n' roll tunes(B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-black Slacks!). When they ask him if he'll fly them out tonight, he at first refuses because of the blustery winter blizzard outside("It's suicide out there!"). But once he hears about how Cody's bee
